Stamm Goes to DC for Official Farewell to Egyptian Ambassador Yasser Reda
President and CEO Joseph Stamm travelled to Washington, DC, on July 11 to attend the celebration of Egypt’s National Day and the official farewell to Yasser Reda, who is stepping down from his long tenure as the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the United States of America. The reception took place at the Egyptian Embassy and included a crowd of luminaries from the US government, Egypt and elsewhere. Among them was the Egyptian Minister of Tourism Rania al Mashaat, US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and many other Arab and foreign diplomats.
Stamm was joined by MedReview’s NPR Director Maurice Bortz as well as by Ezra Friedlander of the Friedlander Group, who led the effort to award the Congressional Gold Medal to the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat. As part of that effort, Stamm, Bortz and Friedlander have met with Ambassador Reda on several key occasions.
“I was honored to be there to celebrate the Ambassador’s important diplomatic efforts in the US and the Middle East,” Stamm said. “Through the course of our many meetings, he and I have developed a warm bond.”
CTO and CSO Daniel McNamara, renowned at NYCHSRO/MedReview as an IT management wiz, is now a published author as well—and the subject of his publication is as far away from binary language as communication gets. The paper, which is on the subject of his surname, is the product of a recent investigatory trip to Ireland, his ancestral birthplace. He presented the paper, entitled Son of the Hound of the Sea: Legend and History of the Name McNamara, to the annual meeting of the American Society of Geolinguistics at Baruch College last fall. The article is published in the journal Geolinguistics.
